What is the Best Day of the Week For Email Marketing?

Post by sumaiya9 »

In working with some of my coaching clients, they have chosen to integrate an email marketing campaign into their overall marketing strategy. One question that has come up more than once is what days are the best to send marketing emails. I'd like to answer that question in this article.

After doing some research, the answer is not set in stone - it depends. It seems that if your emails are [url=https://www.latestdatabase.com/b2b-email-list/]B2B email list[url] (Business-To-Business), Tuesdays seem to be the best. If your emails are B2C (Business-T-Consumer), the weekend seems to work best.

You should take into consideration your target market. Are they all in the same time zone? Are your messages time sensitive? If you are doing a weekly email, it should always be on the same day. For example, if you are emailing a newsletter, it should always be sent out the same day of each week. People will come to expect it on a certain day and perhaps wonder what happened to you if they don't receive it.

What about the frequency of emails? I believe it is best to err on the side of too frequent than very low frequency. I would not recommend more than once a day, but if you truly have information that is valuable to your target niche, they won't mind getting a daily email.

When you first start using email marketing, don't focus so much on what days to send your communication. Give it some thought, take into consideration your audience and your content, but don't try to achieve perfection before taking action. Get started and you can tweak your system later.

Do some testing. If your list is large enough you can do some split-testing, which means break your list into at least two smaller groups and test different days with each email you send. Then, watch to see which will get you results more quickly. Once you have decided which days you think are best, you can put a plan more solidly into place, but always leave room for some flexibility.

Lastly, don't let raw numbers speak solely to you. For instance, it could be that you make more sales on a day when your "open-rate" is lower. Look at the overall picture.
